Cinnamon rolls are one our families favorite treats! I am lucky if these last more than two days here in our home. Here are the secret ingredients.
Dough
*1 C. warm milk
*2 Eggs, room temperature
*1/3 C. margarine
*4 1/2 C. bread flour
*1 tsp. salt
*1/2 C. white sugar
*2 1/2 tsp. bread machine yeast
Mixture
*1 C. brown sugar, packed
*2 1/2 Tbsp. ground cinnamon
*1/3 C. butter, softened
Frosting
*1 (3 ounces) package Philadelphia cream cheese, softened
*1/4 C. butter, softened
*1 1/2 C. confectioner's sugar
*1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
*1/8 tsp. salt
Directions:
~ Place dough ingredients in the pan of the bread machine in order. Select dough cycle; press Start.
~ After the dough has doubled in size, pour 2 Tbsp of olive oil in a bowl and roll dough in it. Cover and let sit for about 20 minutes. In a small bowl, combine brown sugar and cinnamon.
~ Roll dough into approximately a 16x21 inch rectangle. Spread dough with 1/3 C. butter and sprinkle evenly with the sugar and cinnamon mixture. Make sure to use all of the mixture.
~ Gently roll up dough and cut into 12 rolls. Place rolls in a lightly greased 9X13 inch baking pan. Cover and let rise until it nearly doubles in size. This will take about 30 minutes. Meanwhile, preheat oven to 400F and get started on the mouth-watering Frosting.
~ Beat together cream cheese, 1/4 C. butter, confectioners' sugar, vanilla extract and salt until smooth and fluffy.
~ Bake rolls in preheated oven until golden brown, about 15 minutes. Spread frosting on warm rolls before serving.
